Responsible green waste recycling
We can remove all green waste produced when working in your garden
Your waste will never be taken to landfill but to Olus recycling facility where it will eventually become a lovely rich compost that can be used in your garden.
Compost made from recycled green waste by Olus Biomass.
If you are on a budget or want to be as environmentally friendly as possible why not create a composting area in your own garden. You save money and there is no carbon footprint as you avoid the transportation of green waste to another site. Also you may end up with free compost to put back on your garden! Compost areas can be created using timber or plastic bins can easily be purchased and tucked away in an unused/hidden corner of the garden.
Waste generated from your site – our responsibility
We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and we hope that you will too.
From January 2014, all businesses that handle garden/construction waste are required to register as a waste carrier. Those who do not register can be fined up to £5,000.
We have a responsibility because one or all of the following is considered as part of our business:
We transport construction or demolition waste
We transport or dispose of waste for someone else
We act as a waste broker (arrange for someone to handle other people’s waste)
The law requires that we must deal responsibly with any waste generated from your site(s). This is known as our duty of care.
Business waste includes any waste that comes from:
any commercial activity – including any run from your home
Our duty of care lasts from the moment the waste is produced to when it’s received by a business that is authorised to deal with it. For example, a registered waste carrier or waste transfer station.
Processing your waste and costs involved
Once we are engaged by you we have a legal responsibility to remove your waste to an authorised place for processing. This processing comes at a cost which we have to charge to you.
Our waste carriers license No. – CBDL367203
